We did this order a couple of weeks ago for dear Yu CHu's birthday. Had a big of a struggle with the colour. We started with a really good army pattern, unfortunately as we knead the fondant, the colour blended. We couldn't add in any more colour to the fondant otherwise it will become too soft, so we decided with option B, i.e patch work but on second thought paint work would've been better.
The cake was 11" by 9" chocolate moist as the base and 8" by 4" for the second tier which was vanilla. The wheels and the top tier were also vanilla cakes.
The cake itself was not a very difficult design, yet it still took me about 3 hours to complete.
